Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA)

Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA)

As garments manufacturing projects are identified as having the potential for environmental impact, the Bangladesh Department of the Environment (DoE) has categorized them as being the “Orange-B Category” of industrial processes. As such, an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) is required. Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) is one of the proven tools of facilitation to achieve the goal of environmentally and socially sound and sustainable development.

EIA study is prepared based on field investigations, coordination with client, requirement of law from Department of Environment (DoE), and stake holders’ requirement. The report covers the description of existing environmental conditions, assessment of environmental impacts of the manufacturing operation, recommended mitigation measures and environmental monitoring plan. The environmental impact is considered for activities during various kinds of construction & operational activities of the project to satisfy the Department of Environment that it meets with the requirement of law.
